![]() Ian was one of the many overnight presenters on Red Rose Radio. Even after the frequencies split Ian worked on both the AM and FM. He always said to me that the night shift was the best. He always has time for a chat with the listener on the phone and always appreciates and encourages listener participation. |

Until recently
you could have found Ian on 105.4 Century FM. in the northwest of England.
Now he is on 96.9 The Bay in Lancaster bringing back the musical memories
with his high school hits and solid GOLD
Sunday from 1pm til 4. He is also entertainments manager for a Blackpool
nightclub. Born in West Yorkshire, Ian is a true Northerner in more ways than one. After leaving school, the radio industry beckoned, starting as a tea boy to assisting on roadshows Ian did everything. A few years later came second a 'find a presenter' competition run by Red Rose. The guy who won apparently didnt like the job and as far as we know didnt stay in radio. Ian`s real break came when Gilly John Gillmore was due on air at the time his wife was about to give birth. Red Rose called Ian and asked if he wanted to do the show... the rest is history. He has worked in and around the NorthWest continuously in the radio industry. Ian is a keen club jock in his spare time with his interests being music, more music and even more music. Ask him anything connected to music and he will have the answer. Basically , when it comes to music, he`s a bit of a smart ass!!! (no offence Ian) |
